Welcome to the DroneWild course Using Drones for Wildlife Monitoring and Surveying. The course is designed to study at your own pace, without deadlines, and from anywhere with an internet connection. On completion, you’ll receive a Lantra course certificate and a course handbook for use in the field. Throughout this course, you will learn how to: ✓ Operate drones safely and legally in wildlife habitats ✓ Minimise disturbance to animals and their environment ✓ Optimise flight paths to increase wildlife survey accuracy ✓ Use thermal and other sensors to detect species in different terrains ✓ Collect, analyse and interpret survey data effectively ✓ Adhere to best practices for ethical and responsible drone use in conservation ✓ Plan and risk-assess wildlife monitoring missions ✓ Meet regulatory and landowner requirements for drone flights Renewal is recommended every three years to stay up to date with the latest industry rules and regulations.
