DroneWild Showcases Innovation at the Scottish Game Fair 2026

The first weekend of July saw DroneWild attend the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace, where our Technical and Operations Manager, David Recchia, spent three days showcasing the latest developments in drone technology and wildlife management.

David was based in the Deer Hub, an area organised by the Association of Deer Management Groups (ADMG) and the British Deer Society (BDS). The hub brought together organisations from across the deer management and conservation sectors, providing an excellent opportunity to discuss the latest innovations, share ideas and demonstrate how emerging technologies are helping to improve wildlife monitoring and land management.

Throughout the weekend, visitors were able to learn more about the DroneWild project with Forestry and Land Scotland and how our integrated platform is transforming the way drones are utilised around wildlife. David demonstrated our machine learning system, which automatically identifies wildlife from drone imagery, dramatically reducing the time required to analyse surveys while producing accurate geospatial outputs for land managers and conservation professionals.

The event also provided an opportunity to promote the DroneWild ‘Using Drones for Wildlife Monitoring and Surveying’ online training course which has been created alongside our sister company BH Wildlife Consultancy. Designed for wildlife professionals, land managers and drone operators the course provides an online experience covering the latest guidance on wildlife survey techniques, legislation and best practice. As drone technology continues to develop, providing accessible training is becoming increasingly important to ensure these tools can be used safely, responsibly and effectively.

Alongside our software demonstrations, visitors had the chance to hear about DroneWild's latest heavy-lift drone programme. This exciting area of development is exploring how large UAVs can be used to transport equipment, materials and carcasses across challenging terrain.

The Scottish Game Fair attracts thousands of visitors each year and remains one of the UK's premier countryside events. For DroneWild, it was an excellent opportunity to engage with deer managers, gamekeepers, estate managers, conservation organisations and members of the public who are interested in the future of wildlife management and conservation technology.
